Auxiliary Circuit Scheme: The GCS Auxiliary Circuit Catalog contains a total of 120 auxiliary circuit schemes, divided into two volumes. The upper volume, "AC Operation Section," consists of 63 schemes, while the lower volume, "DC Operation Section," comprises 57 schemes.

The auxiliary circuit schemes in the DC Operation Section are primarily used for the low-voltage plant (station) auxiliary systems of power plants and substations. They are suitable for general control methods for standby power supply incoming lines, power supply feeder lines, and motor feeder lines for units with capacities of 2X0MW and below, as well as 300MW and above.

The auxiliary schemes in the AC Operation Section are primarily used for the low-voltage systems of substations in industrial and mining enterprises, as well as high-rise buildings. There are six combination schemes suitable for dual power operation control, and there are no control circuits for operation electrical interlock, standby automatic transfer, or automatic restoration. These schemes can be directly adopted in engineering design.

The DC control power supply is DC 22V or 110V, and the AC control power supply is AC 380V or 220V, forming a complete set cabinet composed of drawer units. The 22V control power supply is derived from the dedicated control transformer inside this cabinet. The common control power supply adopts a non-grounding control transformer, leaving a 24V power supply for use when weak signal lights are needed.

The installation location of the energy meter, the method of voltage introduction, and other installation and usage requirements are detailed in the "Preparation Instructions" of the auxiliary circuit diagram.

The busbar (the combination form of the main busbar can be seen in Appendix 4, Appendix 15) is equipped with the TMY-T2 series hard copper busbar for the purpose of enhancing the dynamic thermal stability of the busbar and improving the temperature rise of the contact surface. The connection parts of the busbar must be tinned, and it is recommended to use full-length tinning. Alternatively, the full-length silver-plated copper busbar can also be selected.

    1. Horizontal Busbar

The horizontal busbar is located in the busbar compartment at the rear of the cabinet. For ratings of 3150A and above, it is arranged in a double-layer configuration, while for ratings of 2500A and below, it is arranged in a single-layer configuration. Each phase consists of 4 or 2 busbars, significantly improving the short-circuit strength of the busbar.

Please refer to Table 3 for the selection of copper busbars for the horizontal busbar installation.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q What is the maximum rated current supported by the GCS Low-Voltage Withdrawable Switchgear horizontal busbar?
The horizontal busbar of the GCS switchgear supports a maximum rated current of up to 4000A. At this rating, the copper busbar specification used is 2×2(60×10) mm, arranged in a double-layer configuration to ensure sufficient short-circuit strength and thermal stability.
Q What protection levels are available for the GCS switchgear enclosure?
The GCS Low-Voltage Withdrawable Switchgear is available in two enclosure protection levels: IP30 and IP40, suitable for different installation environments and requirements in industrial and commercial applications.
Q What are the available control power supply options for the GCS auxiliary circuit?
The GCS auxiliary circuit supports both DC and AC control power supplies. The DC control power supply is available at 22V or 110V, while the AC control power supply operates at 380V or 220V. The 22V DC supply is derived from a dedicated control transformer installed inside the cabinet.
Q What is the difference between the AC Operation Section and DC Operation Section in the GCS Auxiliary Circuit Catalog?
The AC Operation Section (63 schemes) is primarily designed for low-voltage systems in substations of industrial/mining enterprises and high-rise buildings, including six dual-power operation control combination schemes. The DC Operation Section (57 schemes) is primarily used for low-voltage plant auxiliary systems of power plants and substations, covering standby power supply incoming lines, feeder lines, and motor feeder lines.
Q What busbar material and surface treatment is recommended for the GCS switchgear?
The GCS switchgear uses TMY-T2 series hard copper busbars to enhance dynamic thermal stability and improve contact surface temperature rise. All busbar connection parts must be tinned — full-length tinning is recommended. Alternatively, full-length silver-plated copper busbars may also be selected for superior conductivity and corrosion resistance.
