△ Main Circuit Scheme
The main circuit of the GGD cabinet is designed with 129 schemes, totaling 298 specifications (excluding the schemes and specifications derived from the functional changes of the auxiliary circuit and the control voltage).
- The GGD type has 49 schemes and 123 specifications.
- The GGD2 type has 53 schemes and 107 specifications.
- The GGD3 type has 27 schemes and 68 specifications.
The main circuit scheme is selected after seeking the opinions of the design and user departments. The schemes have been expanded to meet the needs of power plants, with the rated current increased to 3150A, suitable for the selection of distribution transformers of 2000kVA and below.
In addition, to meet the needs of reactive power compensation, GGJ1 and GGJ2 capacitor compensation cabinets have been designed, with 4 main circuit schemes and a total of 12 specifications.
△ Auxiliary Circuit Scheme
The auxiliary circuit includes the metering supply scheme and the power plant scheme. There is sufficient space inside the GGD cabinet to install secondary components, and NLS has also developed the dedicated LMZ3D AC current transformer to meet the needs of power plants and special users for relay protection.
△ Main Busbar
Considering the price ratio and the feasibility of replacing copper with aluminum, a single aluminum busbar is used when the rated current is 1500A or below. When the rated current exceeds 1500A, double copper busbars are used. The manufacturer shall produce prototypes and pass type tests in accordance with this requirement. Of course, the manufacturer can also replace the aluminum busbar with an equivalent copper busbar according to the user's requirements.
The busbar joint surface is treated with tinning process.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q
What is the GGD AC Low Voltage Power Distribution Cabinet used for?
A
The GGD cabinet is designed for AC 50Hz systems with a rated voltage of up to 380V. It is widely used in power plants, substations, and industrial and mining enterprises for receiving, distributing, and managing electrical energy, as well as for reactive power compensation through the GGJ series capacitor cabinets.
Q
What are the key differences between GGD1, GGD2, and GGD3 models?
A
The three models are differentiated by their rated current and peak withstand current capacities. GGD1 handles up to 1000A with a 30kA peak; GGD2 handles up to 1600A with a 63kA peak; GGD3 handles up to 3200A with a 105kA peak, making it suitable for the heaviest distribution loads including 2000kVA transformers.
Q
When are aluminum busbars used instead of copper busbars in the GGD cabinet?
A
A single aluminum busbar is used when the rated current is 1500A or below, offering a cost-effective solution. When the rated current exceeds 1500A, double copper busbars are required for greater conductivity and reliability. Manufacturers can substitute aluminum with copper busbars at the user's request.
Q
How many main circuit schemes does the entire GGD cabinet family support?
A
Across all three models, the GGD cabinet family supports a total of 129 main circuit schemes with 298 specifications. GGD1 covers 49 schemes and 123 specifications; GGD2 covers 53 schemes and 107 specifications; GGD3 covers 27 schemes and 68 specifications.
Q
What is the role of the GGJ1 and GGJ2 capacitor compensation cabinets?
A
The GGJ1 and GGJ2 are companion cabinets designed specifically for reactive power compensation, helping to improve power factor in distribution systems. They provide 4 main circuit schemes and 12 total specifications to complement the standard GGD distribution cabinet series.
Q
What installation dimension options are available for the GGD cabinet series?
A
The GGD series offers seven standard enclosure configurations, from TGDD 06 (600mm wide) to TGDD 12 (1200mm wide), with depths spanning 450mm to 1050mm. This range of dimensions allows flexible installation planning to accommodate different space requirements and load capacities.
